Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What other services do you provide?

We provide housekeepers, Elderely caregivers, Chefs, Chauffeurs, Couples, Personal Assistants, Estate Managers, handy men, mannies (male nannies)

Q. What is the difference between the live in/out nannies/caregivers?

Live in caregivers work full time and will need to live with you 5 to 7 days per week. Room and board is provided for the live in caregivers as well as their weekly salary. Live out caregivers can work part time or full time depending on the hours you require.

Q. How much should I pay the caregiver?

Compensation varies depending on the level of experience, qualifications and fluency of English. Once you tell us what your budget is, one of our counselors will be able to guide youand answer your questions. Please call our office to speak to one of our counselors for more information.

Q. How can I be sure my caregiver is going to stay with me long term?

Open communication is very important in maintaining a good relationship with your caregiver. While nobody can guarantee for sure for how long the person will stay in a job, you increase your chances of longevity if you offer a competitive salary and benefits, and a pleasant working environment. Offering vacation and major holidays is definitely a plus.

Q. What happens if the Nanny or Caregiver has to leave or quits?

Newport Domestic Agency/OC Nannies offers you a replacement guarantee. If the caregiver or the nanny decides to quit or you decide to replace her for what ever reason, we honor our agreement and you will have the opportunity to meet more candidates at no extra charge.

Q. Can I pay my caregiver through a payroll system?

Yes, the caregiver is your employee by law, and taxes should be taken out of her pay check every pay period. Putting your caregiver on your business payroll is not technically legal since she is a household employee. For legal advice we can refer you to a tax attorney who can give you a free consultation.
